Applying for FLR(FP) under the father of a British citizen

Post by TyeWolfe » Fri Mar 10, 2017 1:39 pm

I'd be grateful for some advice.
I have a daughter with an English citizen
The relationship has broken down and I now have a court order that permits me contact on every other weekend.
I am interested in changing my status, i.e. Applying for ILR under the father of a British citizen.
I am on the birth certificate as the biological father
My son doesn't have a passport yet as he is only little.
My question
I understand that I would need proof of nationality for my child
But as the relationship with the mother has broken down, how could I go about this?
I have also heard conflicting statements that seem to indicate that the birth certificate is all I need.
Any clarification would be appreciated.

What is your current immigration status in the UK?

You need the court documents, birth certificate, evidence of your involvement in the child's life and towards upbringing.

Hellooo, sorry about the confusion. I have a son.
Thanks for your swift reply.
Ok, thinking of applying for the FLRP 5 year route.
I am currently a research student and so on a tier 4 student visa.

As concerning the documents,
I have a full birth certificate,
my bank statement would show that I make a contribution to his upkeep every month
I have tons of pictures with him
I have a court order that details the process for contact

What other documents would I require?
Especially as concerns the evidence of involvement in his life?
Thank you again for response.

Possibly DNA if you were not married to the other parent.

See form and guidance notes in link below.

This may depend on the date the birth certificate was issued.

CR001, isn't FLR(FP) as a parent of a British child normally a 10 year route?

This may depend on the date the birth certificate was issued. Agree, but for visa and immigration purposes (not BC), HO can well ask for DNA. OP does say the son is only little.

If a birth is re-registered after 12 months with the fathers name, then proof of paternity will be required, otherwise it us not.

Time frame

Post by TyeWolfe » Mon Sep 25, 2017 12:48 am

Hi there, keep up the good work. Can anyone give me an idea of the time frame for processing and ILR application? How long does it take from the time one has done the biometrics?

ILR application

Post by TyeWolfe » Tue Oct 24, 2017 3:40 pm

Hello I would like some advise please.
I made an application for ILR under the parent route sometime in may via a lawyer, the lawyer provided me the form and I filled it. I was concerned as I’d not heard anything from them since I did the biometrics in June until today when the lawyer informed me that the home office came back to them and informed them that the form I filled was not the up to date one. That I should fill another ans send to them within 10 days to continue the application and that the mistake would not affect my application .

My questions:
Is that standard or should I be prepared to pay another application fee?
How will this affect my application?

Thank you in anticipation of any advise

There is no ILR parent route as already advised in March.

You need to know what form it is you completed and what form you are being ask for now.

How much is the application fee you paid in May??

Thank you for your reply.
The application is the FLR(FP).
At the time of application I paid £993 as application fee and £500 health surcharge.
And the lawyers have sent me a link to download another FLR(FP)

You shouldn't refer to your application as ILR. ILR means Indefinite Leave to Remain, i.e. permanent residency which is not what you can or have applied for. This is where the confusion comes from.

Your topics have been merged and I amended your subject heading to state FLR(FP).

So have you completed the new form and sent it within the timeframe HO gave you?

You won't have to pay again if they have asked you to do a new form.
