ICL Long term visa extension process

hello,
I am currently working in UK on ICT Tier 2 long term visa, due to expire in October 2017.
My wife is having dependent ICT Tier 2 long term visa, also due to expire in October 2017.

My company is going to extent our visas, so I have below queries regarding extension process:

1) How long the whole extension process will take
2)My wife is currently in India, so can she process the extension from India or she will be required to travel to UK for extension?

Kindly advise.

1. It depends if you apply by post (takes a few weeks) or if you apply in person at a premium centre.

2. No, extensions can only be applied for within the UK. If she applies from India, she can only apply after you are granted your extension and she will be applying for a new entry clearance visa.

But can she apply for new entry clearance visa after current visa expire (October 2017) or cooling off period will be applied to her.

PBS dependents are NOT subject to cooling off period.

However if you are attempting to maintain continuity of residence, a new entry clearance will cause a break in this.
