Valid visa till Dec 2015 but CoS is showing expired

Hi guys,
I was thrown a curveball by our HR today saying that as she was looking through the system, she saw that the current COS status has gone to EXPIRED.. and now I am worried what is this? IS this normal process?

Hi Manci..Thanks for the reply.. But I don't know what to make of the explanation....I got my tier 2 in feb 2013 and my permit is valid till dec 2015.

EXPIRED EITHER: The CoS has not been used in time by the individual and has expired and a new CoS is required;

OR: The CoS has been used by the individual but we have not considered their application before the CoS expiry date. In
this case, no action is required on your part; we will change the status of the CoS from EXPIRED to USED when the
application is considered.

This is common, Home Office have just forgotten to mark it 'used' when your visa was issued.

Tell your employer to send the CoS number to BusinessHelpdesk@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and they will change the status to 'used'.

Only problem this causes is that the employer can't report anything against the CoS because the IT system thinks you didn't use it - nothing to worry about.

UKBA/the consulate you got your visa at forgot to activate the CoS. That's their error.

I have applied 8 week ago and my Employer noticed that current status showing as used dated on 01/08/17.

i know its only been 2 days today as its 03/08

i was wondering when can i get my decision after showing status as used on SMS Account.
