second 2.5 year spouse visa running out

hi I'm not sure what my wife has to apply for as her second half of her spouse visa will run out next year. that takes her up to the 5 year visa mark, but not sure if we have to apply for indefinite leave to stay or if its just another extension. the yougov website is so confusing and contradicts itself on many things. if someone can put me in the write direction for yougov visa page we need that would be great.
