Citizenship with Expired GNIB Card

Post by Alixlboy » Tue Oct 31, 2017 6:31 am

Hi All,

What happens if your citizenship application gets approved and your PR application is still pending a decision?

Are you supposed to submit your ''expired'' GNIB, in case your current permission has expired in the meanwhile?

How does the above work?

Thanks,
Ali

Yes, but some people post that the GNIB are unwilling to give them a temporary extension sometimes.
What should be done in those cases?

I am not sure if your question is a hypothetical one or not. Unfortunately, however, the answer to your question will need you to indicate which it is first.

I have heard this happening with some other people as well and that is the reason why I posted this question.
I think if you are not getting a letter from INIS granting you temporary extension, it's not your fault, so don't worry too much, however, there is a BIG question as to what would you do if the citizenship application gets approved before you actually get temp extension from INIS :?:
I think INIS really need to be clear about these things and also be willing to help the immigrants. If they start ignoring someone, they keep doing it for no obvious and apparent reason. That's extremely inefficient.

Let's wait and see if someone has the exact answer to the above question.

So what did that guy do? Did he get the citizenship or did he have to get the stamp first?
