How do they send out passports-just by normal mail it seems rather than sign for etc
Generally by DX Courier, dropped through the letterbox without signature, unless you live in high risk areas where they require a signature.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Thanks, that will be a problem as I live in an apartment block and if they deliver during the day I wont be there!

Hello All,

The online status has changed to "Decided" yesterday (after a wait of 5 months). Is their a way to check the decision before the letter arrives? I know some members have said that "when i inquired, they told me it was approved". Where do you inquire ?

Appreciate any help here.

Regards,

Hi Aabbasi ,

Did you get the Approval letter ?

Not yet. I called the council to check if they have received my acceptance, and Alhamdullilah they have which is great news.

Relax! Nothing to worry about. I live in a block of flats. DV texted that they would deliver passport on a Saturday but instead delivered on Friday - a day earlier and there was no one around. They popped it in through the door. No signature, no hassle!

Thanks but unless they convince someone to open said door they wont get in! There is no slot, the mailman has a swipe card and key. So long as they leave a card I will get re delivered to my work

Hi All, Just wanted to check if you can attend the ceremony without a letter from home office? The council has the letter and can book the ceremony, but I haven't received the letter from HO yet.

The approval letter says you MUST take that letter with you to the ceremony or they will cancel your ceremony appointment.

I did see someone else on this forum email HO and ask for a pdf of the letter which was then emailed to them. You could try that? I know if they re-send out the letter they say it takes another 10 days. You should def call them and tell them you haven't received it

Hi All, the status of my application changed to ‘Decided’ on 16.11.17 and I’m still waiting for the letter from HO. In the meantime checked with the Council if they have received my details, but they haven’t yet!

I’m aware that we have to wait 10 working days but I assumed that council will receive Info by now! Do any of you guys have similar experience? Thanks in advance.

Sorry if I post reply in the wrong page.
I checked for the post at the other link, but not there.

Bbccdd, I applied in June, I only got a letter and questionnaire last week Friday, for more docs and informations. I sent it back today, as nxt day delivery. On the letter it says to return it by 29th November, otherwise they will refuse it. and on the return slip it says PENDING: 6/12/17. So maybe that's the date they have to decide finally. I wish for the best outcome.

On a different note, does emailing them twice a week affect the case ? I mean will the case-worker looks at all communication and wonder why this guys is so in hurry ?
