Parents visitor visa advise

Post by cvsmart » Sat Dec 23, 2017 3:58 pm

Hi

I am a UK resident and my wife is British citizen. I would like to invite my parents on a visitor visa. My father is 64 yr old and mother is 55 yr old and both are retired. My parents have a home on their name and apart from that they do not have any kind of savings or income. Generally I transfer money every month in my brother's account for my parents maintenance. I made a mistake that I didn't transfer the money in my parent's account directly.
I will be providing sponsorship letter mentioning that I will be sponsoring my parent's trip including tickets, accommodation and any leisure activity & medical. I have approx. £30k in different savings account.

Is it ok if I provide only my financial documents for the financial requirement?

Can my brothers show their income to support my parent's visa application?

The fact that your parents appear to be financially dependent on you actually weakens their application. The ECO will want to see evidence of strong ties to their home country including self-sufficiency to convince them that they won't have more reasons to remain in the UK than they have to return home.

Since the Immigration Rules were tightened in July 2012 for adult dependent relatives, visitor visas for parents have become more difficult to obtain.

Hi

Many thanks for your reply.

I am not hurry in applying for my parent's visa.Is it possible if I and my two brother transfer some fund each month in my parent's joinnt bank account so it will show the closeness of my parents with my brothes and me.Also that will help in maintaing account balance.Recently my younger brother have bought a flat.My parents will be living with my younger brother in his new flat.

Also, each brother can declare this in covering letter that we sponsor the trip and also we are responsible for my parent's maintenance after they come back from uk?

Agajn many thanks for your quick response.

A visitor's visa may still be granted even if a person is financially dependent on family in UK.

However they will need to show ties like home they are in charge of or dependent children they are looking after, which will dissuade them from staying longer than permitted.

Must be stated that this is not determinative, but they are factors that may weigh in one's favour.

Provide rock solid roof of their ties to their home country. Who they look after and who depends on them. Even include photos of your nephew and family. Be clear with the intent on visit and duration.

My friend had to apply 3 times for a visit visa, on the 3rd occasion a petition to the local MP was made by the sponsor. It's a frustrating situation for extended families not being able to holiday with their loved ones.

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.
