B1 Certificate older than 2 years.

Post by zuzsso » Wed Jan 03, 2018 10:01 pm

I got my B1 certificate on 20-JUL-2015, issued by Trinity College London

I am applying for the British Citizenship now. However, the certificate is now older than 2 years.

I also had the Permanent Residence Certificate, which I obtained in Nov 2016, when the B1 Certificate was still valid.

Does it mean I can still use the English Certificate? According to the HO page, I can because "You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK".

However, I didn't have to prove my knowledge in English to get the Permanent Residence Certificate, hence the confusion.

Please advise.

Regards.
