How we can meet spouse visa income requirement in our case? Husband earns less and I do multiple part-time jobs.

Post by Meyouandwe » Fri Jan 26, 2018 7:34 pm

HI there

Need some help with my new application for a spouse visa, which I will be making in March. I have been studying in the UK for past 7 years, recently completed a Ph.D. Now I am on a doctorate extension scheme visa which ends at the end of April this year. I got married in December 2017.

My questions are as following:

1 - Can we combine our income in the UK to make £18,600 income requirement? or is it has to be only my husband's income which will be counted for?

2 - Since my husband earns less than the required threshold. Whilst, I am doing three part-time jobs in different institutes here in the UK, so if combined income is acceptable, how I would calculate my annual income from multiple part-time jobs? and these are contracted jobs in the University in which I studied. I get paid on an hourly basis, and the rate of one hour is £35. I also have savings from past six months but only amounting £2000.

Any advice on our circumstances would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes you can combine your income.

Previous address on the marriage certificate

Post by Meyouandwe » Sun Feb 18, 2018 1:07 pm

HI All

I have a quick query about my marriage certificate which has our previous address written on it. We changed house recently, should we update the marriage certificate before I apply for the FLR(M)visa?

Thank you

Not required and in any event, amending the marriage certificate with a new address isn't possible. It's a record of where you were both living at the time of your marriage.

Is property inspection must thing for first FLR M visa?

Post by Meyouandwe » Fri Mar 16, 2018 3:35 pm

Dear all,

We are going to apply for visa next week. I haven't had a property inspection yet and didn't know it was required. we live in a shared flat and we have lease and letter from landlord to confirm that we live in the flat.

Question is, do we really have to get an inspection done or letter/lease from the landlord would be sufficient?

Regards

If you live in a property that is share by other people (not your partner), then yes, you need a property inspection report to prove that the property is not overcrowded.

Thanks for your answer.

One more clarification, the landlord has provided a separate lease for each room in the big house. So technically, we have everything separate and it's only me and my partner who lives in the room that we have documentation for. But we have a shared Spam only. Should we still go ahead with the property inspection?

If you do not rent the ENTIRE property exclusively on your own and you share with multiple other people as you state, you need a property inspection report.

Different titles with my name in different documents!

Post by Meyouandwe » Fri Mar 16, 2018 8:52 pm

CR001 thank you so much for the info.

Meanwhile, I am filling the application form and collecting all the necessary documents. I noticed some of my documents have my title as MR while others with Dr as I hold a PhD degree. Can this be an issue having different titles? Call me lazy or what, I still haven't updated the title in most documentations but only have Dr in my letters from the employer and I am thinking to use Dr in my application form too.

Any comments on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Since you haven't got time left to amend the title so better to give it a go and more likely no issue will arise because of that as long as the remaining name is displaying correctly. But for long term purposes as soon as you sorted out your visa you should correctly update it. And if you are not in hurry then better to apply by post but before the expiry of your visa so that you get extra time while visa is processing towards long residence 10 years ILR route if that route remain operative.
