Hi everyone, has anyone got approval letter who applied in 2016 and sent the original passport to the department in January or February? any update whats going on with our application.
Hi Hina2018,
The last update that I got from them is that the application is being prepared for submission to the minister. When I contacted them via email I got a response from team 1 and on the phone I was told that they are preparing it for submission.
no one can predict whether we will get decisions on the applications before the next ceremony or not.

OK Guys. My solicitor sent a letter to department asking for the status of my application. He received a letter today from department reading the following.

I acknowledge your correspondence received in this office on behalf of the above named client.
A more substantive response will issue to you in the near future.

Are they going to send out the decision soon? What is near future? A month or so?

Thanks
any update?

Any new news from those who are waiting since 2016. It looks that they don't circulating many approvals this month. Do you think that it could be a small ceremony ??

On the inis website, it says no more ceremonies will be held in Dublin convention, and from now on it will be held in Killarney convention. I don’t think there was ever a small ceremony held in Dublin before, always been 3000+. So I don’t think this ceremony will be small.

we also have to reckon there a fewer people actually using the forum to share their experience , many just watch and never suscribe (the amount of people who subscribe only to announce they got approval , some get approval and dont report on the forum )

The irish forum has gotten less active

It could also be interpreted as the department will going forward only roll out fewer approvals hence negating the need for larger conference hall.

Hi. Which Solicitor did you engage?

The best option is to seek legal advice. I applied in Aug 2016 and my application was not moving a bit ever since. I met a solicitor and after his letters to citizenship my application has been submitted to minister and now I am waiting for decision.

I made a number of calls but to no avail. I even went to my local TD three times but same standard copy/paste response was sent to TD as well.

My solicitor sent a letter in Oct 2017 and I got response after 3 weeks that my application is being prepared for submission to minister. After 5 weeks in Dec 2017 my solicitor sent another letter asking for an update but no response. He sent a reminder and got response on 12 Jan that my application has been submitted to minister and as they get a response they will let us know.

So if someone has been waiting for more than 1 year and they still getting standard copy/paste responses, in my opinion they should seek legal advice. I know it will cost you money but at least you will get a proper response from citizenship.

I hope it will help someone.

I applied in September 2017 on the basis of 5 year residence. Got the acknowledgment letter in October 2016 and 2nd letter confirming completion of initial processing in February 2017. Still waiting for any further progress. On contacting the department I always get a standard response. I also contacted one of my local TDs but the response to him was similar to one I have been receiving.

I am now thinking of engaging a solicitor.

I have contacted them yesterday, I have been told that my application has been prepared but still not in the minster office. The lady on the phone told me to contact them again after two weeks to get latest update about it.
What is the latest update you got guys? I am really hoping that they consider our application for the next ceremony particularly that most of us almost reached final stages and been waiting for long time.

In my opinion I think it’s pointless contacting them as you will receive little or no information. I would suggest you still give them sometime. As they say “70% of applications are processed within six months while some may take longer”. No one knows you might hear from them very soon considering they are still sending out approvals.

I have got same answer two weeks ago and still waiting. I will call them tomorrow to get some update as the time is running fast and I think that the time left for sending approvals to us is so tight if they didn't submit the application yet.

I also heard the same when I called two weeks ago. I think there's a new batch of approvals coming, the lady on the phone said it should be okay and should be hearing from us very soon, so hopefully they get back to us in the next couple weeks just to make sure we have time to be included in the ceremony! Best of luck for all!

Please keep us updated here!

Hi,
I have contacted them just now and I got the response that no further update on the application. It is still not submitted to the minster. Each time I call them I get a slightly different update depends on the one who is on the phone, some share more information than others. I think the only time I will get a robust response is when the application has been processed completely and the decision has been made and they only waiting to communicate the decision to me.
Nothing in hand can be done, the application is ready to be submitted to the minister but still not in his office despite the long waiting.

I called them Thursday same response you should ring them today ask if your application is already submitted or not

its sad that we are waiting for almost 2 years while other getting their applications approved within 4 months.

Just called them now and response was the same, application still in final stage and she mentioned I should hear back in 4-6 weeks but thats kind of generic answer a lot of them say it. However, she also mentioned they have not sent a lot of approvals so I see we still have a chance especially they give 10 days to pay and arrange the ceremony invitation.

So my guess we still have 3-4 weeks to hear from them, but after that it would be unlikely.

I have also got the same answer. She said that I should hear from them in the next 4 weeks. However, after 4 weeks we will be already very close to the ceremony date so it is unlikely to receive approvals then but who knows. I didn't ask if the application has been submitted to minister or not but I think that it has been submitted and the lady is giving time frame based on this. I will call them after two weeks to get some further update.

I had the exact same response from them. Apparently I’m in the final stages of processing and should hear from them in four weeks.
