Referees for Citizenship application

Post by robinpaul78 » Tue Jun 05, 2018 4:08 pm

Hi there,

I have used two of my friends as my referee. Both are British Citizens knowing me personally for more than 5 years.
The first referee is my neighbour and he is an Account Manager in a Software Company
The second referee is my office colleague and he is the Head of Sales for Europe region.

As both referees have a similar profession, will it be an issue?

Regards
Robin

If one of them has a professional qualification (member of professional body) that's fine, you probably have accountants in the company where you work?

Form AN:
5.1 One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, such as
a minister of religion, civil servant, or a member of a professional body such as an accountant or
solicitor (who is not representing you with this application). The other referee must normally be the
holder of a British citizen passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
