Second opinion on vignette transfers from Aus

Hi there

I applied for a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa before by 31st birthday but the Vignette travel date is 15 May 2018 - 14 June 2018 which is today! I have turned 31 already, and I was granted a visa until May 2020.

I'm not sure yet when I will travel, can I still apply for a vignette transfer after the vignette has expired?

Or should I just pick a day and apply for the transfer today before it expires?

You can apply for a transfer after it has expired. Costs £168 and takes a few days.

Did you not state a intended date of travel in your application if you were not able to travel earlier??

Thanks so much for replying so quick.
My intended date of travel was originally May and they gave me 30 days, but alot of circumstances long story short I couldn't go, but I still want to go later in the year.
So it's fine to apply for this transfer in a few weeks, even if it expires today? Just triple checking!

Yes it is fine, however, you will have less time in the UK. A vignette transfer does not give you extra time, you will still be limited to the 2 years from date of visa issue.

What date do you plan on travelling to the UK??

Also if it expires does it matter what date I choose for the next vignette or is there a say 3 month or 6 month expiry on the transfer too?

I haven't decided but if I have to do it asap then I will want to go at the end of July, but if it doesn't matter when then I will go in December.

I don't believe so as the visa has already been granted. You are only transferring the initial entry vignette.

I have no idea. I know you can ask for a visa to be granted for a date more than 3 months in advance.

I am also a bit confused it says I have to collect my BRP within the vignette date or I may pay fines or get my visa cancelled.
Do they hold it at the same post office if I transfer the vignette until I do enter?

Or should I just pick a day and apply for the transfer today before it expires?

Also if it expires and I can transfer the date, can I transfer the date to any time, say 3 months later?
