When asked, why you choose the university, will you compare it to other universities?
You can mention things like the ranking, the facilities at the uni (infrastructure, library, laboratories, etc), the services (post-study job guidance, etc), the professors, the way lectures are given, etc

You must have had very good reasons as to why you chose that uni. You can re-read your motivation letter to remind you of those reasons

All the best

Visa application forwarded by VFS - 26th July 2018

In the interview, when the visa officer asked whether u considered any other universities ? I said no because ive already done my foundation at surrey and now I am going for my bachelors and the surrey ranking is good - will this be an issue ? :(

and do they reject student visas without calling for a second interview or a document resubmission ?

Hi All,

My timeline:

7 July 2018: Date of online application
10 July 2018: Date of interview, bio-metrics and document submission
27 july 2018: Received email from british high commission in Delhi that a decision was made
28 July 2018: received my documents with UK entry clearance sticker on passport at home

My take:
I would say that everyone should wait for 15 working days before inquiring UKVI. Inquire them on call or email only if you have not heard back from them after 15 working days.

Also, I had not received any communication from VFS or embassy after submitting my documents at VFS. Only email that I received was on 13th working day, stating that a decision was made.

Moreover, there were some complications with my application. My middle name on passport and degree certificate was a bit different. I had produced a notary undertaking stating that both the names are of same person and that resolved the issue.

Hi.
This is the timeline of my application:
Online application submitted: 15th July
Documents,Biometrics and interview: 16th July
Application sent to UKVI: 16th July
Application received by UKVI: 20th July

I'm still waiting to receive an email that my visa has been issued, God willing. Ahh...I can't stop thinking abt it. It's not 15 days yet, so, I've been trying to be a bit calm. I've been checking my inbox almost every moment lol

Thanks for creating this thread lol. Reading abt others that have received their visa is quite a relief. Hoping to share good news of my visa with you all soon, God willing.

I need some advice. I payed deposit amount 4000 GBP on 30/07/2018. I have part scholarship 3000 GBP from the University. Deducted all these funds from tuition fee (14500-4000-3000) equals 7500 GBP plus living costs (7500+11385) equals 18885. I have on my account 25500 USD from 31/07/2018 that is more than 19000 GBP and money on my account will only rise not decline. At the earliest what date can you suggest to apply for visa?

Count 28 days from the 1st of August (01/08/2018), including weekends. So you can apply from the 29th August

Hi Guys - got my visa today within 4 Working days - I guess they did not become suspicious because I was there last year as well. My advice is to provide information truthfully. As long as u remain firm on ur answers in the interview and have provided the necessary docs - ur fine. Best of Luck for everyone who is waiting for the Visa. The rejection rate for Tier 4 is kinda low so I guess Everyone of u will be granted one at the end of the day. CHEERS !!

Hi

I am uday, I have applied for tier 4 visa last year and got rejected. Then immediately i have applied for administrative review and i have got a call my university stating that embassy got in touch for a new CAS letter and they said administrative review is success.

unfortunately my mom was paralysed and i dropped out of my plans and informed the same to my university.

So everything is been going good now and i am applying again for the UKIV visa this month waiting for my CAS letter. my point is that is there any complication this time if i have not opted or rejected my Tier 4 visa.

I will be booking my slot this 24th of july and will go for priority visa. Chances of getting visa ? should i have to provide a covering letter stating the reason behind i have not opted for visa last time.

Can any one pls suggest me what to do?

Hi Uday,

You could provide a covering letter to explain your situation. I don't think it's necessary. It's best to seek advice from the international student adviser at your uni.

However, I think you should explain what happened clearly at ur visa interview, if asked why u took a gap year, when u had ur visa sorted last yr. I took a gap yr too and was asked why I did, during my visa interview. And if questions are not asked abt that, u could just chip it in before ur interview ends.

All the best

Received documents @ Sheffield: 11th July
Dialed Sheffield and said that decision made: 27th July

But still no contact or decision mail from UKVI/TLS Contact. Any idea how much time would it take to receive my passport?

Hey, i took a gap year too but they didn’t ask me anything about it and It didn’t come up either.
I have already given my interview.
What now?

Lets C if any one get their visa post it here so that it will be of a great help for everyone.
Bro you keep us posted when u get your visa
