1. You have to enable the Auto Refresh once you select a centre. I selected 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds based on the time of a day I was trying. Bear in mind, if you select shorter period for refresh (such as 20 sec.), once you see a slot available, select the slot and quickly disable/ stop the add on so that it doesn't refresh your desired page. Its just another click to stop that auto refresh. I actually used auto refresh during day time in my laptop. At midnight, I realized that it is better to use mobile phone browser where I didn't use auto refresh (I didn't try auto refresh in mobile browsers at all).chykeo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 12:33 am
- Please can you describe the steps you took regarding the Easy Auto Refresh (Chrome)?
E.g at what point did you set Auto Refresh? Is this after you have selected a centre, clicked on 'Save and Continue' and get to the page that states "We do not have any appointments in the next 45 business days at your selected location. You can change your location and search again" (which suggest it will only be searching that centre)
- What set time did you choose?

2. One browser can only refresh page for one centre only and opening multiple tabs in same browser wont help. It will actually refresh the page for the centre you last selected.
3. You can create more than one application for appointment and refresh each of those in different browser. I used Chrome, and Mozilla with auto refresh. Also used Internet Explorer but without auto refresh.
3. You may write down payment card number in notepad and copy paste in the payment page to be quick and well ahead of others - I am not sure this will work or not. But you can try.
Hope these will help to broaden your innovative mind and come up with new more tricks.
I am still having no luck. Was yours a SET LR application?morshed wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 4:05 pmI have been trying to get a PSC appointment for the last 4 weeks. It was so stressful and frustrating experience that I started to lose hope of getting an appointment.
All my attempts were failing until this morning today. I got an appointment on 09 August at Croydon. Entirely based on my personal experience I would like to share what I observed.
My observations:
1. Slots for the day just after 42 days are released each day (except Saturday night) at 00:00. For example, on 31 July at 00:00, HO released appointment for 11 September 2018.
2. Most of the cases after selecting the date and a slot, and before proceeding to payment it becomes unavailable. The whole webpage sometimes becomes unavailable.
3. Luckily if the payment is successful, it doesn’t guarantee that a slot has been booked. I had this experience and was informed that I took too long, so the slot is not available and I need to rebook. I received an email about successful payment but not for the date. In this type of case, it is better to contact e-support team. If they provided any Booking Refe. Number, it is better to check the BRN matches with name and payment reference number.
4. Mobile phone browsers are faster than laptop/PC browser. I tried with both laptop (a very fast one with high speed LAN) and mobile phone and observed mobile browser shows the slots before the laptop browser.
5. As I work in computer whole day, during day time, I used chrome and Mozilla browser where I downloaded ‘Easy Auto Refresh (Chrome)’ and ‘Tab Auto Refresh (Mozilla)’ add on so that the browser refreshes the page periodically based on my set time in seconds. I could not find any add on like this for Internet Explorer.
6. Available slots appeared during day time are the ones that have been cancelled (or changed) by someone. Usually they are not the dates after 42 days. Nobody knows when they are going to appear. Due to periodic refresh by ‘Easy Auto Refresh (Chrome)’, I noticed an available slot while working this morning at 09:35 and grabbed that without delay.
My application is SET LR. Once you select a time slot you need to provide card details only. It is frustrating, I know, but keep trying.
Hi Morshed, did u rebook the appointment after or u just stuck to the same appointment and attended it?morshed wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:06 amHi All
After so many failed attempts, on 24 July at 00:00, I again attempted to book a premium service appointment (ILR-LR) for 04 September at Croydon centre. The payment was successful but the system didn't allocate any date for appointment. Received an email stating the following lines:
'This email confirms the amount you have paid and your application reference number. We cannot provide an invoice, but this email provides confirmation that we have received your payment.
The time taken to make your payment was too long and your visa appointment has expired. You must book a new appointment'
So I emailed to online help team about this issue and got the following reply:
' Although we are unsure as to why you received the error message, it is a known issue in which we are currently investigating. We can confirm that there is an appointment booked at Croydon Premium Service Centre for 04/09/2018 at XX:XX am with the booking reference number X-X-XXXXXX.
We have been advised the following by the relevant team if you have confirmation from your bank that the fees were deducted you can still attend your appointment.
You will need to ensure to take your booking reference number (BRN) and evidence of payment, along with your application together with your supporting documents to your appointment.'
The money has been taken from my account on 25 July. When I log into my PSC application account, I still get the message that 'You have a few more steps before your booking will be complete'. So it is clear that if, in case, I want to change the appointment date or want to cancel I cannot do that with my account. Even, I can not download and print checklist.
Moreover, although they provided me a BRN (an actual number, not XXXXX) but it is unclear if the BRN is associated with my name as they said 'there is an appointment booked' at that time and date.
Can someone knowledgeable and experienced in this forum advice me what I should do in this situation?
Is the checklist is a mandatory item for that appointment day because of which the application might be refused?
I rebooked my appointment. The reasons are I needed an earlier appointment and I was not sure if the booking was in my name or someone else's. I emailed them (online support team) asking the question but their answer was not straight to the point. So I kept trying to rebook and once I rebooked I got an automated confirmation email about the new date. Someone from home office also called me and asked which date I actually choose and I opted for the rebooked date and already attended that with successful outcome.Mystarch89 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 7:10 pmHi Morshed, did u rebook the appointment after or u just stuck to the same appointment and attended it?
I've experienced the same issue as well and have even paid the 75 quid surcharge for Early Hour Appointment. If i were to rebook a normal hour appointment, does anyone know whether i'm entitled to the refund for it ?
Regards
Ah cheers, I went ahead and rebooked it the night after as well anyway. Couldnt risk showing up and they say oops we dont have a booking for u as its a system glitch. Rather play it safe and go in with a booking confirmation.! Thanks for that! Congrats as well on your successful outcome!morshed wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 10:19 amI rebooked my appointment. I'm not sure about £75 refund but I had to pay £75 extra on the appointment day as the new appointment was out of normal office hour.
It says answer a question is because u have not chose a time slot.Jlooi wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 4:20 pmOur lawyer said that they will make booking in July from May. But when we brought all our documents in two days ago, they said why didnt you tell us to book? I was shocked to hear that. Now we do not have any appointment made and i need one before August ends. I have just realised yesterday how painful it is to book same day services. Went in midnight and saw appointment from 21 September onwards- I cant book it because my vis expires on the 20th Sept. I am losing the will to live at the moment. Been checking since 6pm till 3 am, then had a snooze started at 6 am again, then snooze from 8.30 and checked every half an hour. Saw Belfast and Glaslow, click in the dates and it asked me to answer a question but when I tried to click on it, it wont let me then it refreshed itself and say no appointments. Please help me with some tips...
Cancellations can come in at any time, I’ve seen appointments appear for the next day a few times but these are not common and tend to get snapped up quickly. You may just have to go down the postal route.Jlooi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 11, 2018 3:57 amSorry to disturb all of you, I am unable to book anything. The midnight slots dates goes too far ahead for me... the latest is 22 Sept and my visa ends on the 20th September. I have been awake two nights now... trying to get something and I snooze here and there... have missed the golden hour for cancellations? If there is a golden hour, can you please give me some pointers???
Thank you for your advice in advance.
Thank you very much, Mystarch89.Mystarch89 wrote: ↑

They advised me to cancel the booked appointment and apply using the standard route, once accepted I can request an upgrade to premium (which of course has an extra fee). I had to send an email to
pscappoinmentrefunds@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk requesting the refund of the money already paid.
I am going to do the online standard application but I will be able to pay only when I get the money refunded,
Do any in this forum have experience with this? https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... quest-form Upgrade to Premium Form
Thank you if you can advise/help me!

I wonder, how quickly they make a decision following receiving the premium visa upgrade request for a postal application. Is it a single day from when they receive the upgrade request?
I might cancel my appointment for August 20th in Birmingham and switch to postal instead. I will make a decision on Monday and let you know the time when I plan to cancel so that someone else can book on my slot.
