Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Post by Heitomorrow » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:21 pm

Hi All
I’m applying naturalisation next year.
To meet English language requirement I do have degree certificate which i did top-up final year at university of Greenwich.

My question is, do we need to provide 3 year university degree or just a top-up certificate enough to meet the requirements.

Second, do I need to send both of the certificate and transcripts or just the certificate enough to justify

Regards

It has to be a degree awarded by a UK university.

I sent them a letter and still waiting for there reply. Dis you receive any letter from then saying your application will take more than six months.

No letter at all after biometric letter in feb . Which address u send them letter for update on your case ?
Send it to Liverpool (Department 1 UKVI
The capital New hall place Liverpool L39PP)

Two days ago I received a reply from the nationality team saying “All checks is not completed on your application we will contact you as soon as we are ready to make a decision on your application”

Did anyone get the same letter in the past and if yes do you have any idea how long will it take for them to make a decision.

Then you just need to provide the degree certificate - not sure what the transcripts are.

Hi everyone, i was reading some cases on here in regards to the good character speciacly for the people who got the case refused because of that, i wanted to share my time line and get an idea if you guys think that i might have some problem with my case or not.? So i came to England in 2010 on Tier 4 student Visa which was Valid till end of july 2013, and i was allowed to work part time 20hours a week, now i started working self employed at end of 2011 at a taxi company and also found my partner by that stage, who i married in Aug 2012, then I applied for a Residence permit as family member of EEA national in Feb 2013 and was granted Residence on 02July13 Valid for 5 years till July 2018 , then I applied for PR in August 2017 based on 5 years completion since the Wedding Date and i got the PR in September 2017 and the letter I received from the home office mentioned that I acquired PR staus on 4.08.17 so i can apply for Naturalisation after 12 months from that date, whice i did i have now applied for Naturalisation on 07-08-18 and they received my case the next day 08.08.18 and i got the Acknowledgement email 17.08.18 and money out the account on 15.08.18, so far it looks like everything is running smooth but do you think that working in 2011 while i was only allowed to work part time but i did work a little over TBH but i was self employed and paid my own taxes but still do you think can it effect my Good Character requirement? I never overstayed , my Student VIsa was suppose expire in july 2013 and got new Residence Permit in 2013 valid from 02 of July. Does any of this puts me in an Awkward position with my case ? What are your thoughts on it. Thanks in Advance

See point 319 and 320 in the link below. Self employment would have been a breach of your student visa conditions.

Oh Lord. This really sucks, I never knew such thing and even my solictor never told me about it wheni applied for my residence permit and Permanent Residence card ? Why they didn’t object at that time ? Now would there be a solution to it or probably a refusal.

Applications under the EEA rules are completely separate rules and laws to UK immigration rules and nationality laws.

I just realised that I only had to give them 5 years employment history which mean its from 2013 they have to count and in 2013 i was already married to my EEA national partner and i received my Residence card in june 13 . Do you think this changes the Scenario of my application?

For citizenship it asks for 10 years of employment history and HO do check your record with HMRC.

Yes That’s correct but the documents NCS asked to prove the past 5 years for employment like payslips and P60 or self employment record was for only 5 years. As promised please find attached the confirmation letter for your appointment.

Documents to bring

Completed AN form
Passports to cover last 5 years
Proof of Indefinite Leave to remain
Life in the UK Test certificate
Knowledge of English requirement.
If you have P60’s and wish to submit them.
This what they asked to submit and i did. But let’s hope they can over look such a thing as paid into the system rather then claiming off the government. 🤔😟

Please help me out here withregard to MN1 & AN application. I am applying for my citizenship online with my son.
I have NHS registered professional nurse and has known us for more than 3 years.

Is she eligible to be my son's referee?

My second referee is a British citizen who is self employed.

Is he eligible to be the 2nd referee for my son.

3. Can we both have the same referees?

Any help will be much appreciated please. Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I applied for BC in Feb first week and still havent received any response yet. Mine is via Refugee route, applied as a joint application for both my wife and me. Since its more than 6 months now, i have called them today on 0300 123 2253 and it was answered by some agent at a call center, possibly from Scotland based on the accent. The lady on the phone took my details and said I will be contacted by someone from HO with an update within 5 working days.

Did this happen to any of you guys? I am not in a rush to get the BC but just wanted to check how long more its going to take for me to get a response.

Thanks

Please help me out here withregard to MN1 & AN application. I am applying for my citizenship online with my son.
I have NHS registered professional nurse and has known us for more than 3 years.

Is she eligible to be my son's referee?

My second referee is a British citizen who is self employed.

Is he eligible to be the 2nd referee for my son.

3. Can we both have the same referees?

Any help will be much appreciated please. Thank you.

For a child application one referee should be someone who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a doctor, teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion. The other referee must be the holder of a British citizen passport, and either a professional person or over the age of 25.

According to the above, it does not clearly say if a Nurse can be a referee, it says doctor or a health visitor. What about your family GP?

As far as I know, you can use the same referees for both applications as they technically separate applications but you will have to send them in one post as your documents will have to support the MN1.

Your second referee is fine, its the first one I am not sure if it will work.

As I mentioned in my other post, my application is now more than 6 months, called them on the phone, had to wait on the call about 30 minutes and finally a call centre person answered, took my details and said someone from HO will give me call with update within 5 working days. So waiting for that now.

Received a response via email today : "We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted. However, in certain circumstances this target is not possible. Please note that we will contact you as soon as we are in a position to take a decision on your case. You do not need to contact us again unless you need to report a change in circumstances" So it looks like i just have to wait.

Hi Ranna,

Not sure what you mean by did the BRP thing. I assume you mean you have done the Biometric - Photo and Finger Print at Post Office.

See the following : If you did not return your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) when you applied to
become a British citizen, you must return it to the Home Office within 5 days from the
date you attended your Citizenship ceremony, or the date you were issued with a
certificate of naturalisation, whichever is sooner.

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... feb-18.pdf

Once you become BC, BRP will be cancelled but you will have to turn as stated above.

if you need the BRP before a decision is made on your application, you can request for it but there is a possibility that your application could be cancelled if you request the BRP to be returned before they have done the initial documents check.

If I were you, i would just wait until they make a decision on the application unless you have an absolutely urgent situation.

No card is issued if you did biometrics for naturalisation. Your current BRP is valid until you become British (at the ceremony).
