Need help regarding additional documents

Post by therealman » Tue Sep 04, 2018 6:55 am

Hey everyone,
I just attended my visa appointment yesterday. For showing evidence of maintenance funds, I've provided a loan letter from my bank. But today I received ane mail from UKVI stating that I need to provide an additional document stating whether the loan covers my living expenses and to send it to UKVI in the next ten days. The loan only covers my tuition fees. For evidence of my living expenses in my visa application, I've already included my parent's bank passbook to show the required living costs portion of the maintenance funds. I've send an email to UKVI explaining my situation.
What should I do next?

It depends. Did the balance in the passbook show the required amount of money held for the required amount of time? Is it clear that this money is over and above your parents' own money they need for their own living costs?

If yes, did you include all the required evidence of your relationship with your parents and their consent for the money to be used, as per paragraphs 231-233 of the Tier 4 policy guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -4-student

If not, that is what you need to provide.

If you did provide everything, advise the ECO that they already have the evidence of money for your living costs.

Thank you for the reply, it turns out that I'm an idiot , because the loan does include living expenses. I've contacted my bank and they have sent a letter to UKVI explaining that the loan covers both the tuition fees and living expenses.

I assume this is a loan through an Educational Loan Scheme not a general personal loan, and that this is clear from the letter.

It is from an educational loan scheme. How can I confirm that UKVI has received the letter?
