How long before i can apply for husbands visa

Hello, can anyone help me with a query.

I'm a British born woman who went to Pakistan and got married there 15 years ago. I returned to the UK about 4 weeks ago and i've started full time employment.
Someone told me I have to be present in the UK for a minimum of 12 weeks before I can apply for my husbands visa. Is this true, or can i apply before then?

I think what they mean by 12 weeks is that when your husband applys for a visa, you have o provide at least 3 months (12 weeks ) wage slips.

To do that you have to be in the Uk and working. Beside the wage slips you also have to show proof of savings and accomadation. If you read some of the comments on this forum they will tell you what docs are required to supportyour husbands application.

There is no requirement for the sponsor to be living in the UK for a minimum period before the spouse's visa application.

13.5 - Spouses/civil partners and how they qualify

the sponsor is present and settled in the United Kingdom, or is to be admitted for settlement at the same time as the applicant arrives in the UK;

Sponsors may be British Citizens. Strictly speaking, a British Citizen who has been resident abroad but who returns to the United Kingdom to live is not ‘admitted for settlement’. However, if he or she expresses the intention of returning to the United Kingdom to reside, you can regard him/her as present and settled here

If you have been married for more than four years outside UK there may be an option of ILE (Indefinite leave to remain) open for your husband from Pakistan, depends on if he clears life in the UK test. I would let more knowledgeable members comment on this but I think it may be possible to come on a spouse visa, sit in life in the UK test and apply for ILR (indefinite leave to remain) straight away.
