Tier 2 Extension Due - Late Notification Salary Increase

Post by kamlesh_chauhan2404 » Thu Dec 13, 2018 11:55 am

Hi All,

Can you please tell where I can find the minimum and maximum salary Slab for Tier 2 General VISA and is it any restriction if employer is increasing the salary within that Slab ( not changing any position).

Thanks
KC

Useful to state the SOC you are on as it is not a broad Tier 2 General salary range, it is SOC specific!!!

Surely you know what your SOC is?? This would have been on your COS and part of your visa application. Or ask your employer.

No there is not. But obviously if is is so far reaching and above the level of your SOC and job/responsibilities, HO might want to investigate.

Sorry for posting this here but this is a general question even though it would help me with my other question in its own thread.

Tier2 Extension Page 24 point 83 mentions that £30,000 or the appropriate rate for the job,
whichever is the higher. So 30K is a minimum for an extension, in your opinion, does a salary of 36K for an SoC code (whose experienced person salary is £24K, SoC 2137, previously I believe it was £26K if I remember correctly) is far reaching for Tier 2 extension even though salary increments have been part of annual reviews?

It really depends on what it is exactly that you do and your job title is on whether it is shortage occupation or not. It is not up to you to decide this. For it to be shortage occupation, it is only the very specific industry and jobs listed in Appendix K.

Appendix J - Non Shortage SOC 2135.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... illed-work
2135 IT business analysts, architects and systems designers
Example job tasks
• liaises with internal/external clients in order to analyse business procedure, clarify clients’ requirements and to define the scope of existing software, hardware and network provision;
• undertakes feasibility studies for major IT developments incorporating costs and benefits, and presents proposals to clients;
• communicates the impact of emerging technologies to clients and advises upon the potential introduction of such technology;
• provides advice and assistance in the procurement, provision, delivery, installation, maintenance and use of IT systems and their environments;
• examines existing business models and flows of data and designs functional specifications and test plans for new systems in order to meet clients’ needs;
• researches, analyses, evaluates and monitors network infrastructure and performance;
• works closely with clients to implement new systems.

Related job titles:
• Business analyst (computing)
• Data communications analyst
• Systems analyst
• Systems consultant
• Technical analyst (computing)
• Technical architect

Salary rates:
New entrant: £26,500
Experienced worker: £34,700

Appendix K - Shortage Occupation SOC 2135

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration ... ation-list
2135 IT business analysts, architects and systems designers Only the following jobs in this occupation code:

systems engineer in visual effects and 2D/3D computer animation for the film, television or video games sectors

It is clearly from APPENDIX J, which is the NON shortage occupation list.
