Do embassies contact other embassies?

Post by RM1987 » Sun Jan 13, 2019 7:14 pm

Hello everyone, I have a Singaporean passport and I have travelled to other countries with it, Russia, Japan and Brazil, in the past 5 years. Now I’d like to apply for a visit visa for the UK but when I went to Brazil last year, I and my friends ended up overstaying for ONE DAY, the consequences weren’t very pleasurable but nothing serious happened, no ban, luckily. If we applied for the UK visit visa this time, would they contact the Russian, Japanese or Brazilian embassies, as the passport still has the visas so the authorities will know I have visited those countries, and ask them about me and my past in their countries?
Ps. All the necessary documents and means of funding would be provided to the British embassy.

Did the Brazilian authorities stamp your passport with any special stamp indicating that you were an overstayer or was any notation made on your passport itself?

I have not seen the visit visa application form, but you may also be required to declare that on the application form and not declaring it may count as deception. If found out, you may incur a ban for a few years.
