Help! COS Start Date Different to actual start date

Post by prawnysas » Mon Jan 28, 2019 9:03 pm

Hi guys,

My tier 2 Visa has a start date of 24 Feb 2014 while my COS has a start date specified as 7 March 2014. My actual start date was on the 24th of March 2014. I had moved from a PSW visa to a Tier 2 Visa. I was in the UK while I applied for my Tier 2 visa and had gone to India for a short visit from 7-20 March 2014. Do I need to declare just the 7-20 March as part of my continuous leave or would the period from 24th Feb to 24h March be part of the continuous leave even though I have not started at that time according to my employer? I am so confused on how to deal with the period from 24th of Feb to 24th of March and I would love some advice from the wise souls in this board. I would need to apply for my ILR this month and would greatly appreciate someone helping me with this?

Regards,

P.

For ILR only visa issue date matters.

If only the visa issue date matters do I declare only the the days I had gone to India (7th to 20th March) as part of my continuous period even though I will have a letter from my employer saying that I started from the 24th of March? Or will the entire period from the 24th of Feb to the 24th of March need to be declared as part of the continuous period?

Thanks for the help Zimba.

Continuous period as I said starts from the visa issue date. Your absence before starting will simply count towards your 180 days limit
