Transitional Tier 1 Maintenance Fund

Hi, I have an HSMP approval letter dated March 5th 2008. I would be applying for a transitional tier 1 next month along with my dependant. I will be applying from within India.

Maintenance fund. Since I am applying with my dependant I need to show 2800 + 1600, 4400 pounds for the last 3 months. About half of this amount has been transferred to my account from a relative for this purpose in April.
Ive read some posts on this forum and some say a 15 month statement is needed, some say a 3 month statement is needed.

1. If I already have a valid HSMP is a 15 month statement still required or 3 months would suffice?

2. If I submit a 15 month statement, do I need to show evidence for source of funds even earlier than the 3 month period?

3. I guess the fund has to be either in my account or a joint account with my spouse. Can I not show funds in my spouse account since she is applying as a dependant?
