Duplicate naturalisation certificate

My wife is currently applying for naturalisation and the application asks for my certificate of naturalisation number. I was naturalised almost 9 years ago and somewhere along the way lost my naturalisation certificate.

Anyone with any experience applying for a duplicate? The initial screens indicate you may be able to keep your documents while your application is being processed but then elsewhere it talks about submitting documents within ten working days. I have travel plans over the next few months so I’m hesitant to supply my passport at the moment as the process seems like it could take weeks to months.

For anyone who has requested a duplicate did you have to submit your passport and how long did the process take? Thanks
