Naturalisation

Post by laluuk » Sat Jun 01, 2019 12:33 pm

Hi guys,

So am applying online, and at the payment stage.

Just want to make sure that I haven't missed something. How do I send my documents / referee letter? Will it tell me what to do when I pay?

Can I apply for British passport straight away or do I have to wait after the ceremony?

It says it may take upto 6 months to reach a decision. I am also planning to go to abroad in Nov / Dec, will I be able to do so whilst the form is being processed?

Would appreciate if someone could clarify these queries.

Thank you.

Upload or scan through the UKCAS Sopra Steria. Attend the appointment for biometric and document check taking originals with you.

No you can't. You have to wait till after your ceremony.

It is currently taking around 2 to 3 months. You are free to travel after you have submitted. Note that HO could ask for more documents or your passport so be aware and have your mail checked.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response.

Sorry one more thing, I can't seem to find how to book an appointment on UKCAS Sopra Steria site... I'm assuming I'll get an email with the account setup once I've paid online on the Gov site?

"Online by either clicking the link to book an appointment from your UKVI account or by clicking the link in the UKVCAS account setup email you have been sent
by phone by calling the UKVCAS Premium Support Line on 0900 165 6600 (Calls cost £2.50 per minute)"

The end of the online form will tell you what to do.

Sorry one more thing.

So I've completed the form and paid.

Is there a specific timeframe after submission where I have to book an appointment by?

I.e, they have some free appointments but they are on/after 21st June. Anytime before is paid (£100). I submitted the application on 1st. June.

You'll be fine booking the earliest available free appointment, so 21st is fine.
