Hi all,
I’ve recently become a British citizen by naturalisation and have received my passport. I have changed my legal name by deed poll (new first name and changed surname spelling, as well as a changed spelling for my old first name which is now included as my middle name).
I’m going to apply for a new passport to reflect this change, but had one concern regarding an uncancelled passport.
I’m a former South Korean citizen, and by South Korean law, my citizenship was surrendered, and my passport rendered null and void with a heavy penalty for attempted use, the moment I was naturalised.
However, my voided passport still is in date and hasn’t been physically altered by the Korean embassy. My question is, does this count as an uncancelled passport, and do I need to submit it with my application? Just to make it clear, I only hold British nationality now, and was planning to submit just my current British passport.
Many thanks in advance!
