Kids born in UK before ILR

Hi experts

I am on Tier 2 Gen visa , and will be applying for ILR in Aug 2019 .
I have two kids , they were born in UK in the last 5 years ( 2016 & 2018 ). Both of them have Indian Passport and dependent visa . I am not applying for them with my ILR as i have plans to apply for their British citizenship post my ILR .

Few questions
1. When i get my ILR , how to i apply for my kids British citizenship ? if you can please provide me any link with details about this application process , that would be wonderful.

2. Can i directly apply for their passports after my ILR, as they were born in UK ?

3. We will be applying for kids british citizenship from UK, any estimate around the fees will be helpful .

4. As the kids are under 16 can they hold both Indian and British passports ?

1. Form MN1 which is an online form. Complete, submit and pay and follow steps to ukcvas sopra steria to book an appointment for document check and biometric enrollment. Upload docs before appointment.

2. No as they are not British and only a British citizen can apply for a passport. You have to register them first.

3. £1012 each, passport is extra once they are British.

4. No. That would only apply if they were born to parents where one was British and the other Indian. By registering them, it is a willful act and they lose their Indian citizenship.

Just a thought:
When is your kids dependant visa validity expires?
It is better to look into that scenario also. Once you apply for registration and do not apply for ILR as registration might take around 2 to 4 months as per the timeline thread(MN1).

If dependant visa is getting expired by the time registration is still under process(MN1), then kids visa status would become stateless.

In case, if you want to go on a travel, and you want to appy ILR or extending their current visa, do they not considered as overstayers??

I might be wrong, but thought of asking these questions to make you aware so that you take informed decision.

Kids don't become 'stateless' if visa expires. The visa simply expires. Any overstay is irrelevant to UK born children under 10 as they have an entitlement to register as British whether they have a visa or not.
