Nationality questions

Post by ssthushyanth » Sun Jun 09, 2019 9:02 pm

Hi Admin and members

I got mine and Wife's ILR on 07/06/2018. I am planning to apply for nationality now. Could you please help on following questions

Am i eligible to apply naturalization and UK citizenship now?

What are the documents required to submit for
1. Proof of living in the UK
2. proof of freedom from immigration time restrictions?

Last week, I got a speeding ticket to verify the driver.I was the one driving the car. I will be sending the verification form in 2 weeks time. Do i need to mention that under driving offence?

I am going to use my friend who is working as accountant in a company as first referee and One of my friend as second referee. As i got ILR, i will apply for UK passport for my son who is 2 months old without naturalisation. Can i use the same referees for my son?

Is there any service allow to apply naturalisation and passport at the same time (NCS)?

Thanks

Hi
Thanks a lot for your answers
My first referee isn't registered accountant. So, i thought to use my neighbour who is an engineer with Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering degree working as Professional services Consultant. Can i use him as first referee?

Also, i am willing to apply for passport for 1 month old son. Can i use the same referee for his passport application? or his referee should be GP/health visitor?

Thanks

Professional Service Consultant is a job description. If your neighbour is a member of Professional body - then yes.

These are classed as professional qualifications:

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)
Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

For citizenship, it is Engineer such as Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer etc who have to be registered professionals with the relevant regulatory bodies.

Software Engineer does not fall into this category.

Hi

Following up on the confusion mentioned above about the job title of the referee, Is there a list of accepted professional qualifications and their associated body?

Thanks

Thank you CR001,
This is a useful document to complement the guide booklet.
However it is dated 2017. So I have another question (sorry if this is not the right place to post, but it is in reply to your message): in the Referee section (page 10), it says that BOTH referees should hold a British passport. But in the latest application form, it says that only one need to be British and another one needs to be a professional from any nationality. Could you please clarify whether it is accepted for the professional referee not to be British?
Thanks
