Can our son travel on recent pbs child brp?

Post by shubhendra » Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:54 am

Hi,

We are on Indian Passport and we recently got ILR (Mighty thanks to this forum).

Our son was born in the UK in 2017 and I think is eligible to apply for British citizenship and passport subsequently (what is the procedure for the same?)

Secondly, can he travel with us on his Indian passport to India for a month and while returning to the UK can we show his pbs dependant child biometric?

Many thanks

Online form MN1
Appointment for doc check and biometrics at UKCVAS
Then you wait
Once approved and you receive the certificate, apply for a passport.

Yes, provided you got ILR based on PBS route and not 10 years long residence.

I was on Tier 2 (General) got my ILR on 5 year route last week. My son was my dependant on Tier 2 General, we did not apply for his ILR with us because he was born in the uk.

So he can travel and enter the uk on his pbs biometric right? I ask because I thought his pbs biometric (when I switched from Tier 2 General to ILR) would become invalid, am I wrong?

Thanks

HO do actually know the rules for when you return! Many do this type of traveling with PBS Dependents, your case is not unique.

Immigration rules part 8 - PBS Dependents is the relevant section of the rules.
