Only surname on passport

Hi guys,

My younger brother has a Pakistani passport but we have applier fo naturalisation and are waiting on a response. The main problem is that he only has a surname on his passport and birth certificate. Its going to be the same on the British passport. Can someone please advise on the process to get his name sorted?
