Knowledge of English/Life in UK test - still valid?

Post by Komisaruk » Mon Jul 01, 2019 8:06 pm

My wife is an EU citizen who unsuccessfully applied for Naturalisation in 2015. She has now obtained a Document Certifying Permanent Residence and wants to apply for British Citizenship again. My question is, will her Knowledge of English and Life in the UK test certificates that she obtained in 2015 still be valid to support her new application?
The Knowledge of English qualification (City & Guilds ESOL skills for life, entry 3 speaking & listening) is equivalent to a B1 CEFR qualification but it is more than 2 years old and is no longer on the list of recognised tests. However, the guidance states that "You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK." and "It does not matter if the B1 level test you took is not on the current list of recognised tests."
With regard to the Life in the UK test, is there an expiry date on this or will a pass remain valid for ever?
I would be grateful if anyone who has experienced a similar scenario can confirm whether or not these two tests can be used to support my wife's new application.
Thanks for your help.

ESOL is no longer accepted since November 2015. She needs IELTS B1 as she didn't use ESOL to settled or for PR.

Liuk doesn't expire so that is fine to use.
