Type of Visa for Spouse of UK settled status

Post by suniel_86 » Mon Feb 18, 2019 2:20 pm

Hi All,
I am looking for advice on what visa category to apply for my betrothed when we get married later in the month.
I am an Indian national with Settled status - Indefinite leave to Remain in UK ( granted since Oct 2018).
My fiance is from India, who has never before travelled to UK and we are getting married later this month.

I want to inquire what kind of visa can I apply for her after we get married.

Thanks
Sunil

Accommodation Proof -

Post by suniel_86 » Tue Feb 19, 2019 11:58 am

Hi All,
I'm an indian with settled status in the UK and my wife is an indian national currently in India.
I'm planning to apply for a spousal visa for my wife and currently in the process of collating all the documents.

One of the requirements being Accommodation details. I currently live in a rented property from a private landlord which I have been inhabiting for the past 5 years. We did a Assured Shorthold tenancy (AST) agreement at the beginning of the term 2014 for a year which we did not renew when the AST period came to an end in 2015. So currently my tenancy continues as a Periodic Tenancy (or “rolling tenancy”). It’s perfectly legit.

I wonder if there would be any issues if I submit my original tenancy agreement which expired on 2015 along with current utility bills which are on my name.

Any advice gratefully receive and thanks in advance of any suggestions.

Thanks
Sunil

No issue. You also need a No Objection letter from your landlord that she can stay there.

Thanks for the response.
Just a quick follow up. I rented property is a 2 bedroom flat and a living room.
My original tenancy was shared with a friend who on account of my marriage is planning to vacate in a months time. after which I'll be the sole tenant and my wife can accompany me.

In the account of my current house mate name still appearing in the AST agreement do i need to furnish any further information stating that he would relocate.

Safest and easiest is to ask for new revised tenancy agreement with landlord/estate agent noc letter.

With the new immigration service https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/edit/start
Is it "Appendix FM Partner" the correct visa type for Spouse Settlement visa.
I was previously advised to use Form VAF4A and Appendix 2.

Spouse Visa accommodation query in online form

Post by suniel_86 » Tue Jul 02, 2019 12:15 pm

Hi all,
I'm settled in UK -ILR, and applying for family visa for my wife.
She is in India and so the uk gov website suggests that you must use online form.
In the online form on website https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/,
I had a query on the section :

Details of where you will live in the UK:
Is this the home of a family member, friend or another person you know?

- I currently privately rent a property and sole tenant in the property.
I wonder if i should answer the above as yes or if the purpose of the question to identify if we'll be staying with family member or relatives and so i should reply as No.
I dont see this in the paper version of the form and so cannot find any guidance as to how to reply to this section,

Any guidance?

thanks in advance
Sunil

There should definitely be another option of 'renting' on the form.

Thanks Seagul, You are correct, there is a separate section on accommodation where i have specified renting. Just wonder how to answer this other section in that case?

Hello Guys,
I need some clarification on the submission of supporting documents for a Spouse Settlement visa.
We applied from India online in the new Access system gov.uk. And got our supporting documents scanned at the VFS visa application centre.
Now I want to know if there is any need to send the documents in UK in person based on the snippet from email i received from UKBA

PLEASE NOTE: This email is to acknowledge receipt of your Settlement application, if you or your UK sponsor have not already submitted your supporting documentation please ensure you follow the process listed below: UKVI is unable to consider your application without these documents.

Your sponsor or an agent can submit supporting documents in the UK at various locations in person for a fee of £75 per application, payable in cash or with a debit card. For these locations please refer to:

https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/pk/en/news/ ... ement-visa

1. Just want to draw on your personal experience on the same.
2. Is there a way to ensure the supporting documents has been submitted ( if you got it scanned from applying country visa application centre)

Thanks
Sunil

Hi Sunil,

Did it give you an option of submitting the documents in VFS India or just the VFS UK?

AJ

Seagul,
Not sure if gives an option of submitting the documents in VFS centre at the time of biometrics?
Post from Sunil suggests that documents need to be uploading by the sponsor in UK?

Thanks in advance.

Some centres at abroad allows applicant to scan & upload documents at the time of biometrics.
