OP appears to be OVER 18 as has a Tier 4 student visa history for a university course.secret.simon wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:55 amHow old are you? Were you born in the UK or abroad? Did your father acquire British citizenship before or after your birth?
Useful to read the Nationality Policy Guidance, page 9 specifically, regarding referees where it clearly states the requirements on knowing an applicant.nadiaslsbl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:20 amI wish to register as a British citizen (my father is British).
My question is about the referees.
On the official UKVI form, there is no mention that the referee must know the applicant for 3 years.

But in some of these forums, some people suggest that the referee should know the applicant for 3 years. why is that?
So, can i apply if i have known the referee for only 2 years?

1. Who exactly is the question for as your previous posts suggest you are over 18?? Your opening post is that YOU are applying to register as your father is Britishnadiaslsbl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 9:37 ambut if parents register a child of less than 3 years old, how is it possible the referee knows the child for more than 3 years?

The form is merely that 'a form'. You should always read the guidance notes etc and not rely only on the forms.nadiaslsbl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:01 amI just wonder why the 3 year requirement is NOT stated on the form which is signed by the referee.

Your circumstances really are VERY unclear. If the application is for YOU as an adult (which you appear to be), MN1 is not appropriate. If for you, what is your claim to British citizenship as moderator secret.simon has already asked??nadiaslsbl wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:35 amwell, in that case i'll wait so my referees have known me 3 years. thanks.
