Date of Appointment

Post by trueblue19 » Tue Aug 06, 2019 11:48 am

Hello Forum members

I qualify for applying for BC on 10th August. I therefore plan to submit the application online on 11 Aug.

I'm assuming I cannot submit the application prior to the date of qualification (which is 10th Aug in my case). Is this correct?

Also, Once I submit the application on 11th Aug, is it possible to book a next day appointment at Croydon (hoping that its available) by paying the requisite fees? I have some urgent travel coming up late next week and I wanted to make sure I can get this out of the way on Monday. Does anyone have any experience regarding the ease of availability for next day appointments at UKVACS Croydon?

Thanks

Correct if that is the date you have held ILR for 12 months for.

Many don't get next day appointments, especially for the larger or more enhanced centres. You will need to see what options you get when you get to that stage of the application after paying.

Thanks. Yes, I received ILR last year on 10 Aug. Does this mean I can submit the application online on 10th Aug 2019 or it has to be the day after, 11 Aug, i.e.

Ok thanks. Looks like I'll have to just ride my luck.

Sorry, I have one more question. I'm assuming if I complete the payment on Gov.uk website after filling out the online form, then my application will be deemed submitted. Is this correct?

In other words, I assume its not possible for me to make the payment and move to Sopra Steria's website to upload the documents until 11th of August. Correct?

After the payment is done, you are then asked to submit your application. Only after the submission, you will be given the option to create a UKVCAS account and continue

Just a quick update if at all its useful for anyone else.

I have just submitted my BC application online, and was able to book an 'outside of normal business hours' appointment for Tuesday 13/Aug at Croydon.

Please note that paid appointment for Monday 12/Aug (outside of normal business hours) was available as well (I couldnt choose this due to prior commitments).

These appointments are not 'free' and I've paid £200 (in total) for 2 applicants.

Other paid appointments during normal business hours were also available throughout the day on Monday & Tuesday (and also on other days of the coming week).

I didnt really check re: earliest available free appointment.

Hello members

I have submitted the application on Gov.uk website and was then transfered to Sopra website. I have booked the appointment and uploaded all the documents. I guess that's it from my end yeah? Or do I need to do anything else?

P.S. I will remember to take a print-out of the appointment confirmation.

Re: Date of Appointment - Email received from Home Office

Post by trueblue19 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 12:32 pm

All

Quick question.

I had submitted my application online on 11 Aug and I have the appointment at Croydon on 13 Aug.

I had also purchased document checking service from Sopra Steria during the application process. As part of document checking service, Sopra Steria checks all the uploaded documents prior to the appointment to ensure they are in order. I have just received an email from UKVCAS confirming all documents are correct, legible and complete.

Following this email, I have also received an email from Home Office with a case ID and confirming my application has been received and is under consideration, and a decision will be made in 6 months.

Is this normal? I would've imagined my application will be submitted to HO tomorrow after the biometrics are done and the documents are submitted online, after I confirm Sopra Steria to do so.

I'm a bit confused. Any feedback would help.

It is normal. All you need to do is to enroll your biometrics.
