children application: together or not?

Me and my husband are EU citizens with PR in UK. I want to apply for UK citizenship (but he does not).
I understand that I can include children in my application (request for registration by discretion).

But can I instead apply for me only first, and then apply for children (born outside of UK) after I obtain citizenship?

MN1 guidance only lists the option below (section 3(1)):

Where one or both parents are applying for British citizenship they may apply for
one or more children ... to be registered as British citizens as part of
a “family application”. Children in this category will be considered at the Home
Secretary’s discretion and will usually be registered only if both the parents are
granted or already hold British citizenship, or if one parent holds British citizenship
Page 14 of 25 and the other is settled in the UK.

It does not mention the option to do MN1 for children only, AFTER one parent becomes UK citizen (and other holds PR)..
