Hi there,
I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.
I have made an application with UKVI to transfer my ILR to a BRP and have booked my UKVCAS appointment as well in November. I have passed the application reference number for a future perspective employer to conduct a Home Office ECS check.
The employer has just come back to me and ask me to let them know when I get a response from the home office so that they can "can gather countersigned copies of the documents to remain compliant with the Home Office."
Does anyone know what response and documents they are referring to? Is this the certificate of application (which I haven't received yet) - if so how long does it usually take for that to arrive?
Thanks.

Maybe they are referring to acknowledgement letter which used to arrive in past when postal applications were sent but unfortunately UKVI isnt sending any confirmation of application in now a days. If you are joining a new employer then majority of them only employ you when you receive your visa/ILR on BRP card.

Seagul,
Thanks for the reply. The employer suggested going with the non-premium service so that they can go ahead with ECS - even specifically told me that if I had gone with a premium service then they will have no choice but to wait until the new BRP is issued.
I am wondering if they had mistakenly thought I had applied for a premium service. Will go back and clarify.
Thanks!

You should have used the premium service by spending extra £800 which more likely give the decision in few hours/days. Usually the BRP card arrives through DX courier within 7-10 days but many people receive it even with in couple of days.
