Evidencing time in country for Biometric Permit

Post by oobie38 » Fri Nov 01, 2019 12:38 pm

For what length of time do I need to evidence living in the UK? Is it the last 5 years, or the entire period I have been here on ILR?

I moved to the UK in Sept 93, on a tourist visa with my (then) girlfriend- we married here, and I was eventually granted ILR in 1997.
I have an NI record up until 2008, when I stopped working to look after our children while my wife, (UK citizen) carried on working.
Beyond my NI record and passports I have no real evidence of continuous stay until 2000 when we took out a mortgage. The mortgage was paid off in 2014.
I've never been in receipt of benefits other than child benefit, which is in my wife's name.
So, my evidence list is:
1997 to 2000- NI record, passport
2000 to 2008 - NI record, passport, mortgage statements
2008 to 2014 - passport, mortgage statement
2014 to 2019 - passport, council tax payments.

Will this be sufficient, or do I need to dig deeper?

Thanks in advance

As much evidence as possible. You must show you did not leave the UK for more than 2 years and did not lose the ILR status
