I been eyeing the UK Tier-1 program while prepping for the CA, and UK will let you rot for 5 years before one can apply for Ctznshp!

No thank-you to UK !!

Yeah, many countries have a 5 year requirement for citizenship, especially in the EU, though some are thinking about reducing the time for Permanent Residency to 2 years if you are a highly skilled worker, like Ireland. Australia grants Permanent Residency after 1 year there as a highly skilled migrant.

It will be interesting to see if things change in Europe, especially since it is predicted that the death rate will be higher than the birth rate in about 7 years.
