Sponsor has employment for contract period

Hi all, hope you're well

Just a quick question. A friend of mine will be making an application to extend his wifes visa in 18 months. He has just started a job which will last for 24 months (no potential for extension). It meets all the financial requirements etc. Given this will be confirmed in the employer letter, will he need to find evidence of something more permanent or will it be ok? Just for my own info, is there any period where something else needs to be shown (I.e. if the employment only lasted a month/2 months/3 months after the date of application)?

That was for me in a few months (as mentioned in that thread). This is for a friend in 18 months who wanted advice as it'll help him decide whether to take the job or not.
