The insurance payments will not continue for the next 12 months following application. Is this going to be a problem. Do I need to switch and say the criteria can be met by cash savings? I think if me and my husband banks accounts and his salary will cover it.
Thanks
Nikki

All above can be combined, however,
if possible (sufficient) then only combine employment with cash savings to get involved the lesser paper work.
That is why I told you to only rely as per above and put aside the insurance payment because these never start instantly. Maybe writing a covering letter may fix this or edit the application form if it possible & haven't submitted yet.

Thank you Seagul. I have logged on and managed to change to cash savings. How much cash savings do we need my husband has saving in his account and I have some in mine. His rough take home pay for the last six months was 1000-1300.
Am I also ok to add a letter to explain I have been receiving ongoing insurance payments since February 2020. I also have savings from my redundancy payment.

You need to calculate the wages earned during the last six months to determine the realistic figures of cash savings for this shortfall. Generically, a total income of around £9300 earned during the last 6 months meet the requirement alone.

If you wish then can add a covering letter highlighting the insurance payment and the source of cash savings.

Thank you Seagul and is it gross income or after tax and NI?
We think he’ll be short by £1-£2k. Then hope our savings will suffice. How much savings would he need let’s say he wasn’t £7500k? I read somewhere it was a lot of money.
Thanks

Thank you we’ll work out gross income for last six months some of it was on furlough though so only 80% of normal salary. How much cash savings would we need to have to satisfy financial criteria.
Thank you for all your help!

Despite the furlough, HO is going to consider the income as or like 100% of what you used to receive pre reduction to 80%. Let the letter from employer and or your cover letter indicate when you started receiving furlough pay.

These will be considered as 100% due to recent temporary concession.

Without any other source of income, the cash savings of around £62500 can meet the purpose alone.

We have worked out his gross income for the last six months was £7475.31. He’s on four hour min contract so hours varies but he normally does roughly same hours so same pay. Based on above gross what would the cash savings needs to be ?

Thanks Seagul. I just want to make sure I have understood the rules or I’m being too paranoid. So when we have to make up the £25123.50 in cash savings. We can show savings split between us that each month we had the above savings for each month 6 months before the date of application. What if we’re short one month?

Anything short of the amount required or short of the 6months duration then the application most likely will not succeed as financial requirement is a cornerstone.

That amount of cash savings must be held either with applicant or sponsor for at least 6 months. Also, the balance as per above must not have been dropped on any day during the last 6 months.

Ok thank you. We will have to check our current bank accounts to make sure. I have a savings account which will satisfy the requirement on its own but obviously I haven’t touched that money as it’s in a savings account for a rainy day. So would it matter that no money has gone in and out for the last 6 months if we use that. I used my current account on a daily basis but I think we may have gone under the requirement if we combine our current account figures. I’ve just looked at the closing balance on our accounts and we meet the requirement but in month we might be short. There not going to look at it line by line are they?
Is the declaration just a letter to states that the money was earnt through work and are savings from work redundancy payment etc. I have the exit letter from work that confirms how much money I got.
My husband needs to provide 12 months of statements to show work money going in account and I only have to give 6 months is that correct?
I also believe once submitted we have to send our documents in it’s not a online submission.
I really do appreciate your support on this.
Thanks
Nikki

Doesn't matter

Lowest balance will be considered I m afraid

Yes a simple declaration of the source of funds.

Thank you very much Seagul. Once the application is submitted are we asks to send the documents off to the Home Office ? We’ve got most of the documents but are missing his work letter as we keep chasing but due to COVID they are all working from home, trying to get it submitted and pay the fees online before the health charge goes up next Tuesday.

The submission will be done online not sending off or posting to HO.
Ensure the letter when finally provided by his office is not dated after the day you submitt application.

Generally speaking the letters/documents must be dated until the date of application. However, there is one temporary concession.
If you’re unable to provide specified documents
In some cases, we will be able to decide your application without seeing certain specified documents if you cannot get them due to coronavirus. Otherwise, you may be asked to submit the specified documents after the date of application.

Thanks Seagul. We’ve rang HR and the line states the office is closed due to COVID there working from home we’ve emailed 3 different teams and still no response. Managed to find a mobile number for a HR manager from an old email so hopefully we will get a response now.

Please can someone advise when they ask for the source of income declaration does this need a wet signature ? Then take a photo and upload.
Also do we need to list all bills like council tax, gas, electric, water, internet phone, tv licence then say we split the bills.
Also how many documents with address from 2.5 years do we need to show like a couple from each year?

Where possible yes, though with the significant shift of HO to accepting electronic documents I do not think it will be a problem.
Also do we need to list all bills like council tax, gas, electric, water, internet phone, tv licence then say we split the bills.
You do not need to itemise every minutr details when it comes to this. You can state both contribute in taking care of bills and if this is reflected on the account statement to be submitted, good.
Also how many documents with address from 2.5 years do we need to show like a couple from each year? Its is documents covering last 2years pre application spread 3-4 months interval I.e. first 6 months of spouse joining not needed. You need 6 documents in joint names or 12 documents in individual names (6 pcs for each partner)

Do not have an exact answer for this, what is noted is that should be from a recognised regulated banking service provider.

Ok thank you. The bills are usually paid from my current account which I wasn’t going to send because I’m using my savings accounts to satisfy the financial requirement will I need to include that aswell. 6 months from current and 6 months from savings.
