FLR (M) NARIC letter Requirement

Post by aaa_mount » Mon Nov 16, 2020 11:40 pm

I am applying FLR (m) for my wife and she has passed the Trinity English Language Test and has a certificate. even though we have mentioned that she passed the approved English language test, the "other documents" section asks for "NARIC letter that confirms the qualification meets or exceeds the recognised standard of a Bachelor's or Masters degree or PhD in the UK AND confirm the level of English to which the degree was taught or researched" - without ticking this document, the application doesn't move to the next step.

I was under the assumption that when the approved English language test is passed, then NARIC letter is not required. When i applied for the ILR, I mentioned I had passed the English test and there was no requirement for submitting the NARIC letter. Can someone please clarify if a NARIC letter is mandatory in this case? If not mandatory, how do I proceed to the next step without ticking that document in the document checklist?

The answers we provided in the application are as follows:
Do you have a degree that was taught in English? Yes
Country your degree was taught in? India
Does your degree meet the English language requirement for this visa? No
Have you passed an approved English language test? Yes
Did the test assess your speaking and listening skills at a level equivalent to CEFR A1 or higher? Yes
How did you get your result? Online reference number
Awarding body? Trinity College London

Thank you.

Go back to the form and answer 'No' to the above question.

The question is concerned with meeting the English language requirement, not the applicant's educational accomplishments.

Thanks for your response, it is not asking for the NARIC after answering no.

Sorry I wasn't sure because the degree was taught in English but not accepted.

Hi -

Did your application went alright - I am in a similar situation and have a degree taught in English but dont want to go through Process of obtaining NARIC cert- So i would do the same as suggested,

Select as No for :Do you have a degree that was taught in English?

Can you please be able to confirm if everything was smooth with the process and share experience please.

This is the correct thing to do as already mentioned by @Korekt above.
