ILR for my wife

Post by alpsvips » Tue Mar 16, 2004 12:37 pm

Dear All,

I am due for an ILR this October based on my 4 years on Work Permit.

This October my wife will complete 2.5 years with me in UK as a dependent visa holder. Would my wife be given ILR with me this october? What is the time period required for the wife to stay before giving ILR?

Also, My wife is currently out of the country and when she comes back to UK (in May this year), she would have stayed out of the country for 120 days at a stretch this year. She did not go out of the country previously other than a week's holiday in Switzerland. Would this overseas stay of 120 days bring any complication in her application?

Please advise

regards

These absences should not affect her getting ILR together with you, as long as she is in the country when applying. The absences may be a problem, though, once she decides to apply for citizenship at a later date.
