Hi everyone,
Me (British citizen) and my partner who is on a spouse visa will be travelling abroad for a holiday. Our current plan is that we return to the UK several days before her BRP expiry and then file the FLR(M) extension application, understanding that we must be in the UK when this happens. Section 3C would then apply.
Noting that the date of return travel is close to her BRP expiry, can we encounter any problems boarding the flight or at UK immigration? We can explain our plan as well as bring printed copies of our application and supporting documents. It would be helpful to know what done to mitigate anything going wrong.
It isn't ideal to be travelling this close but this is the only way we could make the trip work and we will keep a close eye on any flight disruptions.

It's called an expiry date for a reason. It simply means it's valid till the last day. You can have no problems either with immigration or the airline. The only problem you can have is, if you don't come back before it expires, or make in time application before it expires.
Enjoy your holidays!
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Making the journey should not be a problem and reentry as you outlined before expiry won't give you any hassle.
So far no events beyond your control keeps you out and it expires while on holiday.
