Skilled Worker Visa Redundancy IRL impact

Post by ast123 » Thu Dec 07, 2023 6:30 pm

Hello! I am reaching out to seek clarification and guidance regarding my current immigration status as it relates to my recent redundancy.

My last day on payroll was on October 5th, and to date, I have not received a curtailment letter. I am currently in the process of interviewing with a prospective employer who has expressed willingness to sponsor my visa.

While researching online, I came across varied information about the continuity of a skilled worker visa after redundancy. Some sources suggest that the 60-day period for ILR continuity starts from the issuance of the curtailment letter, while others indicate it begins from the last date on the P45 form which is 5th of October on my case.

Having spent two years on a skilled worker visa, I am keen to understand the potential impact of my redundancy on my ILR, especially if I secure new employment before receiving a curtailment letter.

Thanks for the help!

There is no 'varied' information if you reach the official UKVI information.

Yes, it starts from when you get the UKVI letter and it can take some time for letters to be sent. Hopefully UKVI have your current/correct address.
while others indicate it begins from the last date on the P45 form which is 5th of October on my case.
Absolute nonsense.

No impact if you apply for a new Skilled Worker visa with a new employer.

You do realise you cannot do any work now and should not travel out of the UK.
