Unenrolled deedpoll used for British passport valid for OCI?

I had the the no surname in Indian passport issue which I worked around by executing an unenrolled deed poll at the time and got my UK passport in the desired name. Can I check if I can use the same unenrolled deed poll to support my OCI application? VFS tell me that I need an affidavit notarised but not sure where to get that done in London. Anyone with experience can you provide some clarity on how to go about it?
