ESTA waiting time

ESTA waiting time

I completed my ESTA application a week ago and still waiting for an answer. Has anyone's ever taken this long? Applied with my recently acquired Italian passport.

I believe the reason my ESTA is taking this long is that I had a J-1 visa refused 14 years ago under my Brazilian passport.

That's exactly why it's taking so long. It's never automatic after that. You'll go through a review process.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Just been approved. Took 12 days.
