Verification of Pakistani Marriage cert

Post by kupuser » Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:28 am

Hi all,

Can someone advise when join spouse visa or citizenship application is applied in Ireland and Ireland gets marriage certificates verified from Pakistan, which authority in Pakistan is responsible for verifying these?
Is is NADRA or the relevant union councils that issue the certs?
A lot of join spouse applications are taking beyond 13 months and up to 2 years to process and a solicitor advised this could be due to slow verifications from Pakistan.
Would you know if it is NADRA or union councils? Thanks

Its the foreign affairs. You need to get all government documents attested from Foreign affairs.

Thanks.
Yes that has already been done but I was talking about the fact that the Visa & citizenship department send these back to Pakistan for verification from the issuing authority (either NADRA or Union Council) which results in major delays.

You could have done apostille from Mofa Pakistan which actually eliminate the need to send documents back to Pakistan for verification by Irish authorities.
Ireland and Pakistan both signatory to apostille convention.
Once Mofa pak put apostille in your personal documents (birth certificate or marriage certificate or any other official documents) it can then be verified by simply scanning the QR code .
I have done my birth certificate this way.Mofa QR code works ,nadra qr code never works .

Hi

I want to get my marriage certificate apostilled in Pakistan. Do you know if the MOFA service is active for marriage certificates? Thanks

Hi,

Could not find this thread in the search result so I asked the same question here https://www.immigrationboards.com/mrc-p ... 52367.html

Anyway found this on Apostille..

https://apostille.mofa.gov.pk/fee-structure
https://apostille.mofa.gov.pk/list-of-public-documents
https://apostille.mofa.gov.pk/sops

From the above it can be understood MRC can be attested normally (this is free of charge), and Apostilled as well which costs Rs 3000 as its a classified as a Personal Document..
