Switching Student Visa to FLR

Post by Noor786 » Mon Sep 30, 2024 10:20 am

I am currently on a student visa and unfortunately failed one module in my course. I would like to explore the possibility of applying for Further Leave to Remain (FLR) to avoid returning to my home country.

Could you please clarify whether I can submit my FLR application before my Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) ends, or if it needs to be done afterward?

You can extend your Student visa if your university will issue a new CAS for the new period of study. If they will not issue a CAS for an extension, they may issue one for you to apply for a new Student visa nearer the time of your re-take. You will need to do this in your home country.

If you are applying in the UK, your deadline for extending your visa is the expiry date of your current visa.

Just not wanting to go home is not the basis of any other type of application.
