My wife got British passport .
1. What the process of getting Indian OCI card

2. is the process correct, first get the surrender and later apply for OCI
3. is renounciation no more applicable now?
4. Please share the links for surrender Indian passport and OCI
5. Please advise me what documents are required for surrender and OCI
6. Is any fast track?
7. How long it takes for surrender certificate and how long for OCI

1. My wife not attending vfs office, iam going alone for surrender of my kids who are under 18. Would anyone share me the template of consent letter please?

2. For under 18, if you dont take them to vfs office, what signatures are mandatory
(all attested copies, + all pages in application printed form)
anything else which i missed please?
so that they dont send me back particular signature not there?

In OCI applicaiton online form, there are 3 sections
1.applicants Information
2. applicants passport details
3. applicants family details

question A : In 2nd section, which passport details to be given, is it india or UK?


question B : in applicants family details, there is a question' Relation with root indian', what to be fill here, i guess grand father, not sure what to fill

question C : Applicants address details, what to fill here, is it UK address or indian address?
becuase when i give uk post code its not accepting. it says invalid post code.

1. We have India travel plans. To expedite the surrender certificate, would you share any email IDs/senior officials etx in high commission so that I would request them mentioning the reason.

As i have travel plans to india, so i would need to expedite the surrender ceritifcate. Couple of friends it takes minium 3 weeks. i feel 3 weeks too high.

But my questions are below

a) is any parents OCI card original and copy required? I have OCI and British passport.
My wife has british passport but she donest have surrender passport, certificates and OCI yet
b) Child is 17 years and 10 years, which documents they have to sign,
C)which documents of their parents have to sign
d) i dont think they should attend OCI appointments, either of parents are fine

My wife got British passport this year as soon as she had ilr this year (because am already British passport). She didn't spend 1 year for naturalisation as am British citizen

In OCI for part b, for adults what option to select in acquisition method
1. Birth
2. Descent 3. Registration 4. Naturalisation

I guess naturalisation..is it true
My doubt is she didn't spend 1 year naturalisation as she is wife of British citizen.
Is still naturalisation correct

It is still naturalisaion, irrespective of whether spouse of BC.

in that 4 documents what documetns to be loaded, in the below 5 is there???
did i miss any thing? do i need to upload my parents indian passport?

1. Current passport - british passport and naturalisation MERGED pdf
2. Indian orogin proof - cancelled passport and surrender ceritificate MERGED pdf
3. spouse passport - spouse passport and oci card MERGED pdf
