Schengen Entry ban

Post by Arigato » Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:40 pm

Hi.
I would really appreciate some help here.

I met a man from Kosovo trough Online.
We had many things in common. I invited him to Sweden, however, i forget to tell him my real name, i gave him my nickname.

I wanted to meet him in a Mosque and see if everything is WELL, we would marry there.
But the Border Police confronted him and he said my nickname and when they called me, i gave them my name and adress.
I screwed here for him, sadly.
They banned him for entry for two years, for not giving correct information, did not have hotell booking and return ticket.

This is he's first time traveling, likewise for me. I had no clue about these stuff.
Would REALLY appreciate help.
Thank you in advance.
/
Sincerely

Have you reviewed your country's immigration rules?

Go here: https://www.migrationsverket.se/

Before making any commitments understand the rules!

Just arriving as a visitor, withholding information, no return ticket, hotel booking or money will make it difficult for non-EU citizens at any/all European borders.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

This is a messy story indeed.

I don't know what this person's citizenship is (either Serbian or Albanian, I suppose), but yeah, coming up to Schengen area a person is required to show funds, proof of return and so on.

a) meeting someone for the first time for the purpose of marriage may indeed ring alarm bells for border guards.
b) I dont think coming to Sweden as a visitor would allow him to change permission to stay in country, so he might have to leave and come back anyway, which makes lack of return ticket even more confusing. See eg https://www.migrationsverket.se/English ... rtner.html

I would highly advise you to take a deep breath, reevaluate what's going on and how do you want to move forward, and proceed based on that.
You may want to start with meeting this person in their home country or in a third country which is outside EU (eg Belarus) before inviting them to Sweden again.
