British Citizen With OCI to Marry Indian Woman

Post by sumleo » Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:41 pm

Hi there,
I am a British citizen via naturalization with Overseas citizen of India certificate.

I got divorced in January 2023 and divorce certificate was issues by British court.

I plan to marry an indian woman now who is a widow and who has 10 year old son from her marriage.

I want to know how do I go about marrying , her spouse visa, her son's adoption and visa.

What all things I need to do in the UK. Any no objection certificate.
What all things will be required by and her in India.

Which visa will need to be applied for her and her son so that they can come to the UK as my dependent.

many thanks

To start with, you will need to create a separate question in the Other Countries forum for questions about steps to do in India.

As to the UK side of things, which we will address here, do you earn more than £29,000 a year in the UK. And if you do, is that as a fixed salary or in some other guise? And would your spouse-to-be be able to pass an English language test at at least A1 level?
