Hello
I am applying for my child's visa extension. She has been here for already more than 5 years as my dependent. But my wife changed her visa from dependent to Tier 2, so her ILR time is reset.
I want to apply for my daughter's visa extension for 3 years in line to match my wife's ILR eligibilty. But after completing the application, it only shows £ 388 which i believe only for 6 months or less. where do i specify i want to apply for 3 years and how will the fee will be corrected?

Her first 3 year visa will expire in second week of July. We are planning to extend her for another 3 years. She will be eligible to apply for ILR in July 2027

That is why. You can't choose to apply for a dependent visa that has a longer validity than your wife's current visa, it doesnt work like that. The rules don't allow this.
Any dependent visa will expire at the same time as your wife's visa.
When does the child's visa expire?

Thanks. My daughter's visa expires on March 14 and my wife's on July 17
But one question though, my daughter is dependent under me. Even in this case is it still dependent on my wife visa expiry?
In this case what are my options

It doesn't matter who she has a dependent visa through. The immigration rules do not permit a dependent visa to extend beyond the parent whose visa expire the soonest.
You would have to extend now and extend again when your wife does.
Alternatively, your wife can extend now and for your daughter under wife's skilled worker visa for 3.6 years if the CoS is issued for 3.6 years.

Thanks for the input. Is there a limit on how many years/times the dependent visa can be extended

Thanks again. My wife is going through a tough time in her company and we are not sure she will get the CoS for extension. We are thinking of switching her to dependent visa. Unfortunately this will again reset her ILR clock. But we don't have an option..
In this case, do we have to inform her company before applying her dependent visa. Do we have to wait 1 month before her expiry to apply for her dependent visa

She can switch to a spouse visa at any time and no need to inform employer before applying.
She needs to meet the English requirements and the financial requirement for a spouse visa.
Note she cannot apply for a Skilled Worker dependent visa if you have ilr. She only has the option of a spouse visa, 2 x 2 5 year visas.

Thanks. Sorry I didn't get 2x2 5 year visa. What does this mean. Is it for my wife and daughter.
After I paid my daughters ihs fee, now the application fee is showing as 1636 which is for 3 or more years. Shouldnt it be less

Your wife, and daughter, switch to a Spouse Visa under Appendix FM, ie spouse of a person settled. It is a 2 x 2.5 year visa route to ILR based on 5 years.
The cost of the skilled worker dependent visa is based on your last CoS duration etc.

Hello
In March I applied for my daughter's visa extension and got approved in line my wife's visa expiry till July. My wife has her own skilled worker visa and due for renewal in July.
Now my wife is applying for her extension and I wanted to know if I should I apply for my daughter's dependent visa as a separate application. My daughter has been my dependent the whole time. In this case how will I specify that I need to apply for 3 year extension. Last time when I applied in March they asked my wife's visa status and based on they calculated the ihs fee. I am a bit unclear

Your child will get a visa extension in line with your spouse visa extension length. It makes no difference to the child status which parent she is dependent on. She can switch to be your spouse's dependent with no issues.
You should apply for them on the respective forms at the same time. If your spouse gets two years, your child will get two years etc. Your child's visa will be processed once your spouse's visa is processed and hopefully approved.

My daughter has always been my dependent. For the visa extension if she applied under my wife as a dependent would it be an issue when she applies for her ilr. They are both eligible in 2 years

No, she simply qualifies for ilr when your wife does.
You are overthinking this entirely.
